Council - Assistant Conductors/Concert Choir Representatives

Introducing your 2019-2020 Assistant Conductors/Concert Choir Representatives:

Youngjin Kim, Samantha Anderson & Grace Evans

Hello! I’m Youngjin and I am one of three Assistant Concert Conductors this year in choir. I’ve been in the program since my freshman year, and I’m so excited for my final year singing here. I look forward to assisting others whether through warm-ups, theory, or any music. Cheers!

Hello! I am Sam Anderson, one of your 2019/2020 Concert Choir Assistant Conductors! I’ve been involved in music one way or another ever since I was a little kid. I picked up the flute in 3rd grade, and from that day on, music was the absolute center of my life. Soon I began trying out other instruments, such as cello, guitar, and bass. I’ve been involved in multiple orchestras and performance groups since a young age, always trying to fit in new experiences whenever I can. When I was 13, I found a new passion for singing. I spent time in my room every day writing and singing songs just for fun. Ever since joining choir at Valencia High School, my passion for music and singing has grown even stronger. As assistant conductor, I will make sure to bring my passion to class every single day. Because I’ve had experience in many different areas of music, I will be able to answer your tricky theory questions to help you understand your music backwards and forwards. I, along with your Youngjin & Grace - your two other talented conductors, will do our very best to help you in every way possible. Over the course of this year, my biggest goal is to inspire creativity and help all of you discover how freeing and wonderful music can be.  You can reach me at sammylellow@gmail.com.

Hello! My name is Grace Evans and I am one of the concert conductors for the 2019-2020 school year! I am going to be a senior this year and have been in choir for the past 2 years. I am currently in concert choir and 2n4 vocal jazz ensemble. As conductor I will be teaching my classmates more about reading music, theory, warm-ups, and also providing help if anyone has a question. I am looking forward to conducting this year and being a leader in the classroom. I can’t wait to share my love of music with other students in class and also further expand my teaching and conducting skills. I’m looking forward to an amazing school year with this choir! If you have any questions you can email me at gracieevans4182@gmail.com.
